Our Fire Protection Services team in Salisbury are on the lookout for a talented and experienced Sprinkler Fitter to join our team.
You will have strong communications skills, sound experience with all wet fire requirements and standards, along with the ability to respond to and report on all reactive and proactive client needs.
The primary responsibilities of this role are to service and maintain mechanical fire protection systems (sprinkler) and equipment according to the relevant Australian Standards whilst exceeding customer service expectations at every available opportunity.
Experience working within defence facilities would be advantageous but not essential.

What you will be doing
- Survey customer premises and recommend mechanical fire protection and safety systems and equipment, in accordance with Equans' procedures and processes.
- Conduct inspection, testing, installation, repair and maintenance of fire Sprinkler Systems and other associated equipment in accordance with Equans procedures and processes, and Australian Standards.
- Complete and provide evidence of maintenance performed on fire protection systems and equipment using the logbooks and associated documents, in an accurate and legible manner.
- Maximise efficiencies via route planning, time management, stock management and service delivery.
- Manage and maintain all assigned company property, including documents, tools, equipment, vehicles & products.
- Report work progress and performance by completing productivity / Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reports.
- Comply with all company policies, procedures and processes.
- Attend all scheduled training programs.
- Recommend improved business processes by actively engaging in quality programs.
- Ensure the highest level of presentation as an Equans employee.
- Comply with all Customer requirements, as defined by the Customer contract.
A typical day involves
- Investigating and troubleshooting of issues on sprinkler, gas, foam, and hydrant systems.
- Collecting and ordering parts.
- Liaising with clients and RAAF personnel.
- Completing and receiving jobs on tablet.
- Installing and rectification of fire wet systems.
- Servicing of existing systems.
What you need
- Trade qualification and a minimum of five years field experience preferably within the fire industry.
- Previous experience in driving process compliance.
- High standard of written and verbal communication skills.
- Analytical skills in reviewing activities and identifying key actions to deliver continuous improvement.
- Current Driver's Licence.
- Up to date product and industry knowledge, and an understanding of where to locate the relevant information.
- A solid knowledge of the applicable Australian Standards relevant to Fixed Systems fire protection equipment.
