About the opportunity
We currently have a rewarding opportunity to join us as a Commercial Officer with our JORN (Jindalee Operational Radar Network) team. As a member of the Commercial team supporting this high-profile Program, you will be collaborating with and supporting the Program using your skills gained from previous experience working in the areas of either Commercial, Legal or Finance delivering specific tasks and providing support to operations. This role reports into our Senior Commercial Manager for the JORN Program, comprising of both the Acquisition and Sustainment Programs.
This role is based out of our Edinburgh Parks office in SA.

Key responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with the management and administration of bids and contracts.
- Supporting Procurement and Supply Chain colleagues in the preparation of sub-contract terms and conditions as required by role.
- Assisting in the provision of commercial elements for the Life Cycle Management and Request for Bid Approval process.
- Contributing to the development of commercial proposals for potential business and the commercial review of the full suite of proposal documents.
- Assisting in the preparation of draft quotations and detailed agreements including but not limited to Non-Disclosure Agreements, Contract Change Proposals, Technical Assistance Agreements, Service Level Agreements, etc., in accordance with policy and process.
- Chairing meetings as required with internal stakeholders on various matters to support the delivery of the JORN Program.
- Working with the internal legal team as required to ensure all contracts have the necessary legal input and governance.
- Drafting basic contracts/agreements under supervision and contributing to the development of more complex contracts.
- Engaging with external customers to support program delivery.
About YOU
You'll have:
- Previous experience in a commercial, finance or legal role.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisation skills, together with a high degree of motivation, initiative and enthusiasm.
- Well-developed self-management skills and demonstrated ability to work under your own initiative to deliver outputs to time, quality and cost.
- A curious mind-set and ability to integrate and extract information.
- Team orientation with a high level of written and oral communication skills including the ability to communicate clearly with internal and external stakeholders from all levels and from a range of disciplines.
- An ability to work as part of a team or independently with little supervision and guidance and using your own experience, judgement and initiative.
- Computer literacy, with intermediate knowledge of MS Suite. Familiarity with tools like SharePoint and Oracle is desirable.
- Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations.
- Ability to obtain Australian defence security clearance of Negative Vetting Level 1 (NV1) is required.
