Description:
- Provide financial management services, financial performance information, and specialist advice to clients (including executive management) and external stakeholders.
- Contribute to the annual budget development process including the monitoring and implementation of key budgetary elements within the budget timeframe.
- Contribute to the development, implementation, administration and review of financial models, systems, and processes.
- Identify and implement business improvement opportunities.
- Maintain compliance with departmental policy and procedures (including the Financial Management Practice Manual), Australian Accounting Standards, and relevant legislation.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and deliver high quality customer focused services.
- Writing for business cases and briefing notes to senior management.
Requirements:
A successful Principal Finance Officer should have:
- A degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
- Comprehensive understanding of financial legislation and standards
- Proficiency in financial software systems
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
