Senior Software Engineer

It is an exciting time for AFG, and our team is expanding! We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join a high performing Software Engineering Chapter.

As part of a highly experienced team, you will be an integral part of achieving successful outcomes. The work environment is fast-paced and supportive, where you will be working alongside passionate like-minded individuals.

Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Working with leading cloud technology, design, develop, and maintain high-quality software solutions.
• Lead and mentor a team of software engineers, providing guidance and support.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
• Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
• Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs.
• Perform code reviews to maintain code quality and share knowledge.
• Implement QA measures such as unit tests to ensure high-quality software is delivered.
• Deliver secure solutions and address vulnerabilities as part of the SSDLC.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes and methodologies.
• Develop and implement software architecture and design patterns in collaboration with Architects and Technical Product Owners.
• Manage and prioritize multiple projects and tasks effectively.
• Participate in the teams’ agile practices.
• Develop a strong working understanding of the business and how our systems create value.

Who We are Looking For

Our ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate your knowledge or experience in some of the following areas:

• Bachelor of Computer Science (or equivalent) or comparable commercial experience
• Extensive experience with cloud services (AWS/Azure/GCP)
• Strong knowledge of microservices architecture and experience in designing, developing, deploying and running microservices.
• Expertise in Node.js (Typescript) and .NET Core (C#) for backend development.
• Familiarity with RESTful API design and implementation.
• Solid experience using CI/CD pipelines and tools like GitHub Actions and Azure DevOps.
• Demonstrable appreciation for security and quality assurance in software development.
• Outstanding problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes would be advantageous.
• Highly motivated and passionate about Software Engineering
• Insatiable appetite to learn!
• Desire to promote and drive Software Engineering maturity.
