Your New Role
Your new role will see you work on high-value property and construction insurance matters, including complex recoveries, first-party insurance disputes, property damage defence claims, and broader general insurance matters.
In addition to running your own files and providing support/mentoring to developing junior lawyers, your key responsibilities include:
- Client engagement and strategic advisory to drive outcomes
- Reviewing documents, preparing evidence, and handling complex litigation
- Drafting and managing court correspondence, witness statements, and expert instructions
- Liaising with counsel, preparing briefs, and attending court
- Providing expert legal advice across a range of high-profile insurance matters

- 5+ Years PAE in general insurance law;
- experience in property/construction recoveries, liability defence acting on behalf of insurers;
- experience in the day-to-day management of files and in running matters through court proceedings;
- a team player, with a ‘can do’ attitude, and a strong interest in defendant insurance law;
- excellent technical, analytical and drafting skills with a keen attention to detail;
- excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- the ability to organise and prioritise effectively; and
- experience supervising and mentoring junior lawyers.
