Description:
The RoleWe are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of a highly regarded, family-owned station located in the Western Division, NSW.
This station operates in conjunction with other family-owned and leased properties across NSW, the Flinders Ranges of SA, and high-rainfall Victoria. The ideal candidate will possess a flexible attitude and a strong willingness to collaborate effectively with other managers and the administrative team. The role may occasionally require travel to support fellow managers and their teams during key seasonal events such as mustering, lamb marking, calf marking, weaning, and shearing.
Significant capital investment has been made in this property over the past year, and our clients are eager for a new manager to build on these improvements and enhance the property’s operations for grazing, calving, and lambing times. Experience in managing a shedding sheep production system will be a valuable asset, as the manager will play a crucial role in implementing breeding and finishing systems on-site.
Currently, the station runs a flock of approximately 13,000 Merino cross and Dorper ewes alongside 1600 Angus and Bos Indicus cattle, spread over 39,688 hectares. In a big season, especially when the Darling River floods, this station carries larger numbers. As part of a supportive management team, you will have the opportunity to roll up your sleeves and continue developing new infrastructure and executing breeding programs on the property.
This station is equipped with well-appointed cattle and sheep yards, shearing sheds, and quarters for shearers. A capable partner may also be invited to join the team and contribute to the work.
The Employer
You will be working for a forward-thinking, family-owned business that oversees an impressive portfolio of large properties and livestock across NSW, VIC, and SA. With a wealth of experience in acquiring and redeveloping properties into high-performing operations, you’ll receive ample support throughout the process.
The Offer
Located just 10 minutes from the well-known Tilpa Hotel, the area is rich in history and sits alongside the banks of the Darling River. You’ll find a newly refurbished homestead on the station, conveniently situated by a large billabong. A competitive salary will be offered, tailored to the applicant’s skills, along with a work vehicle and coverage for power and utilities, all negotiable.

The candidate we are looking for will have the following characteristics:
- Previous management experience
- Cattle Breeding and Backgrounding Experience
- Merino Sheep Production System
- Shedding Sheep (Ultrawhite x Dorper) production and finishing systems
