Description:
Our Water Utilities Client is seeking a Project Support Officer.This is a long-term contract role for 2 years, located in Mitchell, Canberra, with a hybrid working arrangement (4-5 days onsite per week).
As the selected candidate, you will:
• Support the digital project by applying established project frameworks.
• Track budget expenditure and forecasting.
• Record project issues, risks, and actions, ensuring timely review and resolution.
• Assist with vendor onboarding, police checks, financial administration, IT account creation, and other resource-related activities.
• Plan and conduct stakeholder meetings, including governance and minute-taking.
• Support procurement processes, maintaining registers and documentation control.
To be successful in this role you should have:
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Project Support Officer or in a similar administrative role.
• Experience in reporting, financial analysis, assurance, and reconciliation.
• Strong experience in arranging meetings, developing minutes, and tracking actions.
• Ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong organisation and communication skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks.
• Understanding of the project lifecycle, documentation, and methodologies.
• Strong time management skills and ability to work under pressure.
It is desirable if you have:
• Industry Project Management certifications (Prince2 or equivalent).
• Agile project delivery experience.
• Exposure to working with vendors.
• Experience using MS Project for project planning and forecasting.
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, Teams, and Outlook.
• Resource contract management experience.
