Role Overview
As an Accounts Officer, you will play a crucial role in managing financial documents, supporting the Finance team by managing accounts payable and accounts receivable functions in a timely manner while delivering excellent customer service and ensuring compliance with organisational policies and procedures.
Support the finance team during an exciting automation transition, handling AP/AR, reconciliations, and reporting. Be part of a dynamic, fast-paced environment where your skills will make a real impact.
Responsibilities
- Support credit control
- Manage daily banking cash allocation
- Oversee debt collection
- Maintain an up-to-date filing system, both electronic and paper-based
- Implement credit policy and manage debtor accounts within agreed terms
- Reconcile store accounts monthly and report on Aged Trial Balance
- Liaise with stores to resolve customer inquiries or complaints
- Process statements and invoices from suppliers
- Process accounts payable on a regular and timely basis
- Liaise with suppliers to ensure billing processes are operating effectively and to resolve store queries
- Reconcile supplier statements
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate brings 2-3 years of hands-on experience across accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash allocations, and reconciliations, coupled with strong communication skills. Known for their patience and problem-solving ability, they have a keen eye for detail and a natural drive to investigate and resolve issues, ensuring smooth financial operations. With experience in system transitions, they thrive in dynamic environments, maintaining accuracy and efficiency while troubleshooting challenges. Their proficiency in Excel at an intermediate level allows them to analyse data effectively, contributing to streamlined financial processes and decision-making.
