The OpportunityWe are seeking an exceptional engineering leader to guide a diverse team in a fast-paced environment. You will focus on system-level analysis, design, development, integration, and testing of deployable communications hardware and software. The Battlefield Communications System (BCS) is a cutting-edge networking solution that integrates custom and off-the-shelf technology, providing superior communication capabilities for ADF personnel. Its modular design allows for rapid deployment and customization for various missions.

Responsibilities
* Lead the System Integration and Support System teams within the BCS enterprise.
* Drive the architecture evolution of the Mission System and Support System across all BCS programs.
* Support the harmonization of BCS product baselines by tracking and managing both common and unique components.
* Manage shared program assets, including the System Integration Facility (SIF) and Mission System Integration and Test Event (MSITE) assets.
* Ensure efficient execution by managing team resources in line with BCS enterprise priorities.
* Collaborate with the Joint Systems Engineering Manager to balance priorities across the BCS program and the engineering function.
* Plan, estimate, and execute all allocated scope within budget and schedule.
* Support workforce planning by identifying and addressing workforce demand changes.
* Ensure proposals align with BCS system fundamentals and offer competitive responses.
* Foster team performance and career development, including managing training and travel budgets.
* Create and maintain a diverse and inclusive engineering work environment, modeling Boeing's Seek, Speak, and Listen behaviors.
Experience/Qualifications
Essential:
* Degree in Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent industry experience.
* Exceptional communication skills with the ability to engage and lead a diverse team.
* Proven experience in successfully executing large or complex engineering development projects.
* Australian Citizenship is required to meet defense security requirements.
Desirable:
* Experience with BCS projects and campaigns.
* Engineering or technical degree that meets the chartered requirements of Engineers Australia.
This senior leadership role offers flexibility in work arrangements, with a preference for candidates based in our Brisbane office and/or Wacol production facility, where the majority of the BCS Program team operates. Periodic travel to key Boeing and customer sites will be required.
