The Northern Tasmanian Netball Association (NTNA) is seeking an experienced Sports Administrator with strong project management and organisational skills to develop and lead a new initiative funded by ‘Play Our Way – An Australian Government initiative’.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement program activities (training, mentoring, workshops, guest speakers) and branding materials while supporting recruitment and engagement of athletes, umpires, coaches, mentors and future leaders.
- Implement strategies aligned with established Play Our Way Grant project objectives to ensure sustainable growth and impact.
- Set up, collect and report on program progress, participant feedback, and grant performance indicators.
- Oversee financial and operational management of the program to ensure effective funding use.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to create opportunities for women and girls to lead and excel in their role.
Key Skills & Experience:
- Strong project management skills with experience in developing and implementing programs or initiatives. Experience in sports administration, community engagement or similar fields is essential, but specific netball knowledge is not required.
- Strong communication and organisational skills with the ability to engage diverse groups including but not limited to coaches, athletes, officials and stakeholders.
- Experience working within grant guidelines or similar frameworks or transferable skills in grant reporting and management is preferred.
- Experience in netball is beneficial but not required. We welcome candidates with a background in sports administration, community programs, or leadership roles, eager to make a difference in women’s and girls’ sports.
- A demonstrated ability to be self-directed and driven, working autonomously but within a supportive team.
- Proficiency in office software and digital communication tools.
- Working with Vulnerable Children’s Card (essential)
- Drivers Licence (essential)
- First-aid certificate (desirable)
This position will be working independently but reporting directly to the NTNA Director of Operations.
Position Type: Part-time (15-30 hours/week; higher during season, lower in off-season), with flexibility for remote work when appropriate. Hours will be negotiated with successful applicant.
Award: Sporting Organisation Award – Clerical & Administrative, Grade 6
Salary: $31.08/hour. Expected to work some nights/weekends.
Contract: Fixed-term until June 2027
