And we’re on the hunt for a talented part -time (4 days per week) or full – time Associate Creative Director / Copywriter to join our buzzing (and flourishing) Creative team in Melbourne!
Working closely with the Creative Director in Sydney, you will play a key role in shaping Jaywing’s creative vision, mentoring and developing the copywriting team, and elevating the agency’s overall creative output. You’ll help lead the strategic and creative development of ideas from inception through to delivery. This includes crafting compelling brand narratives, and collaborate with designers, strategists, and art directors to deliver work that is innovative, cohesive, and results driven.
In this hands-on role you’ll be balancing delivery of impactful and strategically aligned conceptual copy with leadership assistance of a growing creative department. You’ll want to elevate the work delivered by the agency for its key creative accounts, as well as look for areas where creative opportunities can be pushed proactively, all whilst fostering an environment of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
Day to day you’ll:
Lead the development of bold, insight-driven creative ideas across branding, integrated campaigns, and digital content.Partner with designers, art directors, and strategists to ensure strong alignment between verbal and visual storytelling.Oversee the creative process from ideation to execution, ensuring consistency and excellence across all outputs.Act as the senior creative lead in Melbourne, representing the agency’s creative vision in client meetings and presentations.Collaborate with strategy and client teams to translate business objectives into compelling creative solutions.Sell in creative work with confidence and clarity, ensuring alignment with client goals and audience needs.Mentor and develop copywriters within Jaywing, while also providing creative guidance to art directors when needed. Act as a holistic senior voice within the agency, ensuring projects are delivered with strategic and creative cohesion. Confidently represent the creative vision in client presentations, workshops, and meetings, with full project context.Provide constructive feedback and guidance to ensure the team produces work that is conceptually strong, strategically aligned, and meticulously crafted.Foster a collaborative and inspiring creative environment across teams and locations.Ensure creative work is aligned with brand positioning, tone of voice, and strategic objectives.Stay ahead of industry trends and evolving content formats, bringing innovative thinking to the agency’s creative output.Champion creative storytelling that connects with audiences across multiple platforms, including social, digital, and traditional media.The ideal candidate will have:
7+ years of experience in a creative agency or related environment..A strong portfolio demonstrating conceptual thinking, brand storytelling, and campaign development.Proven ability to lead creative projects and present ideas with confidence.Experience working closely with designers, art directors, and strategists to develop cohesive creative solutions.Strong writing expertise across a range of formats, including campaign copy, branding, social, and digital. Experience in longform writing for SEO is a bonus.The ability to balance big-picture creative thinking with hands-on execution when required.The ability to inspire and guide creative teams to produce their best work.Strong understanding of how creative solutions align with business objectives.A team player who thrives in a multi-disciplinary environment.Confident in articulating and selling creative ideas both internally and externally.A creative problem solver who pushes boundaries and drives creative excellence.In return we’ll give you:
