Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced HSEQ Manager to join our team!

In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for the development, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of the OHTL division’s Quality Management System (QMS). You will ensure that all division policies and procedures comply with relevant regulatory and legislative standards, helping to uphold our commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide advice and guidance to Senior Managers and safety personnel regarding Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality (HSEQ) matters.
  • Formulate, revise, and enforce quality assurance policies and procedures to ensure compliance with project specifications, industry standards and regulations.
  • Oversee the implementation and maintenance of HSEQ management systems to optimise processes and ensure product/services.
  • Assist projects with the management of non-conformances and incidents and investigations to a high standard.
  • Assist senior project personnel to identify hazards and manage risks.
  • Ensure that reporting and management systems are consistent across the organisation and reports are completed in line within agreed timelines.
  • Manage and maintain integrated management systems to ensure consistency in standards and procedures including ensuring maintenance of HSEQ record management.
  • Assessment of Subcontract companies prior to engagement
  • Liaise with relevant federal, state and local regulators in jurisdictions as required.
  • Provide relevant information for future work bids/tenders with prospective clients.
  • Conduct HSEQ systems audits for current projects.
  • Develop and deliver training programs to educate project teams on HSEQ standards, procedures, and best practices.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with client and external stakeholders to foster a collaborative approach.
  • Identify and assess HSEQ-related risks associated with operations and projects.
  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to minimise the impact of potential HSEQ issues.
  • Implement measures to track and improve customer satisfaction related to the quality of construction projects.
  • Work collaboratively with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate HSEQ assurance measures seamlessly into project workflows.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance processes, reduce defects, and improve overall HSEQ performance.
  • Stay abreast of industry regulations and standards; ensure that the organisation remains compliant and implement necessary changes to policies and procedures.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Valid Australian work rights.
  • Driver Licence.
  • White Card.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a HSEQ discipline or construction management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Training or qualifications in auditing, particularly in the area of safety systems
  • Training Delivery and Assessor qualifications.
  • Extensive experience in developing and maintaining HSEQ systems.
  • Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and regulations.
