About the role
We are looking for a compassionate and experienced Asset Inspection Program Lead to join our team for a 15-month, full-time, fixed-term parental leave cover at our Keysborough depot.
In this role, you will take the lead in supporting and enhancing our asset inspection and defect management operations under the United Energy Contract. You will ensure that we uphold high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency while fostering a positive and collaborative team environment.
You will play a vital role in guiding the inspection of power poles and lines, ensuring that all quality standards are met, and delivering excellent customer service. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a leadership style that is both supportive and strategic, with the ability to motivate and inspire others while driving efficiency and performance within our asset inspection programs.
Key Responsibilities include
- Inspire, support, and lead a collaborative, high-performing team of Asset Inspectors & Schedulers, fostering a culture of engagement and achieving shared objectives
- Oversee the end-to-end asset inspection process, ensuring timely, quality-driven, and efficient operations, while maintaining compliance with safety, regulatory, and operational standards
- Implement and oversee asset inspection procedures and defect management processes
- Communicate strategies, decisions, and updates with clarity and empathy, ensuring alignment between team members and contractors
- Monitor financial performance with attention to detail and implement solutions to address any variances
- Create and manage both operational and capital expenditure budgets, focusing on cost control and ensuring contractor costs and activities align with budget expectations
- Provide accurate, timely, and insightful reporting to business leaders and key stakeholders
- Maintain a strong client focus, ensuring all regulatory requirements are met and exceeded
About You

- Thrive in an environment with tight timeframes and competing priorities, demonstrating flexibility and a calm, solution-focused approach
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate effectively with customers, suppliers, staff, and senior management at all levels, always maintaining professionalism and empathy
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and SAP, with a keen eye for detail and organisation
- Experience in the electricity utility field, with a strong understanding of operations and service delivery
- Relevant qualifications in electricity maintenance (e.g., Certificate II in Asset Inspection, Cert III Linesmen) are advantageous but not essential
