Role Overview
This is an exciting senior position within our Product team, dedicated to serving our financial services clients in Australia and New Zealand. You will oversee our research programs, acting as the subject matter expert and primary client delivery resource. Your responsibilities will include collaborating with clients and designing and delivering our research programs to meet their expectations. Additionally, you will be accountable for program commercial performance, ensuring programs meet retention, growth, and margin objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Product ownership

  • Ownership of RFI's consumer banking councils in Australia and New Zealand
  • Determining program cadence, sample size and construct
  • Continually innovating and evolving program coverage ensuring ongoing alignment with client needs, market dynamics and competitive differentiation
  • Identifying opportunities to bring different programs together to enhance client value

Subject matter expertise

  • Being the subject matter expert on those programs internally within the business and with clients
  • Maintaining an external profile as an industry expert thereby enhancing the perception of RFI via speaking at conferences, media engagement, etc

Client engagement

  • Maintaining a deep understanding of clients' strategic priorities and demonstrating this understanding in your dealings with clients
  • Delivery of insights to clients ensuring relevance, actionability and alignment with expectation

Internal collaboration

  • Collaborating with Sales and Marketing to enhance program commercial performance
  • Collaborating with the Research Operations and Insights teams to ensure programs are being delivered efficiently and margin is being maintained

People

  • Operating within a matrix management structure where you have shared management responsibility for other members of the team
  • Reviewing and providing feedback on the work of more junior members of the team, ensuring feedback is understood and acted upon, ensuring continual advancement in the quality of output
  • Cascading subject matter expertise through the research and insights teams and broader business via training and knowledge sharing

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will ideally have:

  • Proven experience delivering or consuming actionable insights to / within financial services organisations
  • Detailed knowledge of dynamics of the consumer banking market, including customer needs, competitive landscape, and industry trends
  • In-depth understanding of the common strategic objectives of financial institutions, their challenges and priorities
  • Experience presenting research and insights to clients at a senior management level, being credible and having an ability to deliver messages that resonate with these audiences
  • Commercial acumen evidenced by the ability to make sound decisions that contribute to program success and profitability
  • Recognition of the importance of customer satisfaction and retention, and knowledge of how to enhance the customer experience
  • An ability to focus on client needs above all else
  • A desire to work in a fast-moving environment, with an entrepreneurial focus
  • The ability to work and communicate effectively
  • Excellent leadership and organizational skills
  • Experience managing others via a matrix reporting structure
