As an IAC Affiliate member of the Australian Payments Network (AusPayNet), we provide enhanced Point of Sale technologies, hardware, software and professional services to some of the largest financial institutions around the world. A little about what you’ll bring to EFFISION
• You have at least 5 years’ experience in a similar role
• Technical Experience
o Cloud Platforms
Hands-on Experience: Significant work with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Multi-Cloud: Familiarity with multiple cloud environments and hybrid cloud setups.
Cloud-Native Technologies: Experience with containers, serverless, and microservices.
o Infrastructure Design
Network Design: Experience in setting up VPCs, subnets, and VPNs.
Storage Solutions: Knowledge of object storage (S3, Azure Blob), block storage, and databases.
Compute Resources: Setting up and managing virtual machines, containers, and serverless functions.
o Security
Identity Management: Experience with IAM, role-based access control (RBAC), and federated identity.
Data Protection: Implementing encryption, key management, and secure data storage.
Compliance: Working in environments requiring adherence to standards like PCI DSS.
o Automation and IaC
Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Proficient with tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
CI/CD Pipelines: Experience setting up automated pipelines for code deployment and infrastructure provisioning.
• Development and Application Experience
o Application Deployment: Experience deploying and managing cloud-based applications.
Programming: Familiarity with languages like Java Spring, javascript, typescript, python.
o Microservices and APIs: Experience designing and deploying microservices architectures and RESTful APIs.
o Source Code Management: Experience working with git
• Leadership and Strategic Experience
o Project Leadership
Solution Design: Leading the design of scalable, secure, and cost-efficient cloud solutions.
Team Collaboration: Working closely with developers, DevOps engineers, and stakeholders.
Mentorship: Guiding junior engineers and sharing best practices.
o Cost Management
Optimization Strategies: Experience with cost optimization techniques like instance right-sizing, reserved instances, and using spot instances.
Budgeting and Forecasting: Predicting cloud costs and managing budgets effectively.
o Business Alignment
Stakeholder Communication: Translating technical details into business terms.
Vendor Management: Working with cloud providers to negotiate contracts and optimize service usage.
o Presentation and Communication
You have strong presentation and verbal and written communication skills with various stakeholders
• Problem-Solving Experience
o Troubleshooting: Diagnosing and resolving cloud infrastructure issues, including networking, security, and performance.
o Disaster Recovery: Designing and implementing disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
o Performance Tuning: Optimizing cloud infrastructure for high availability and performance.
• Industry and Domain Experience
o Domain Knowledge: Experience in payment industry with exposure to ISO853, As2805, ISO20022, PCI DSS.
o Emerging Technologies: Exposure to AI/ML, IoT, or edge computing in a cloud context.
• Relevant Work Experience
o Years of Experience: Typically, 5+ years in IT, with at least 2-3 years focused on cloud computing.
o Previous Roles: Experience as a Systems Administrator, DevOps Engineer, Software Engineer, or IT Manager before transitioning into cloud architecture.
• Non-Technical
o You have the ability to learn new technical and non-technical skills rapidly
o You’re a proactive thinker with the ability to evaluate future implications of current decisions and actions
o You have multi-tasking skills with ability to manage own workload and adjust priorities to meet deadlines
o You’re a self-starter, ability to act on problems and opportunities
• Certifications and Formal Education
o While not mandatory, certifications can validate experience:
o AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional)
o Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert
o Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect
o Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) for cloud-native experience.
