ABOUT THE ROLE
An opportunity to gain valuable experience as an Allied Health Assistant with an experienced multi disciplinary team. The role will be Casual and hours may vary according on business requirements and to flex around your university study commitments. A minimum commitment of 9 hrs/week is expected. You must be able to work a shift/shifts on a Monday, Tuesday, Thursday or Friday. Based in Toowoomba.
Your key responsibilities and duties will include, but are not limited to the following:
- Supporting others with General Administration duties such as responding to queries, forwarding communications to the relevant areas, filing, scanning, data entry and electronic document management
- Assisting our Occupational Therapists and Speech Therapists to deliver exceptional therapy and support to our clients and their families through delivery of direct therapy (under the guidance and supervision of a CPOT)
- Attending regular clinical supervision with our incredible and highly experienced Senior Occupational Therapist (and other therapists)
- Developing resources to support our interdisciplinary allied health team and our clients
- Communicating with new and existing clients and engaging in collaborative practice with clients, customers and other team members
- Contacting new client enquiries and completing intake/case history and related client paperwork (e.g. consent forms and service agreements)
- Managing and scheduling client appointments using practice management software
- Keeping client files accurate and up to date
- Maintaining client confidentiality at all times
- Assisting with therapy groups, community education and other events
- Accurate completion of appointment and billing records
ABOUT YOU
Qualifications and Experience:
- Current 3rd or 4th year university student studying a Bachelor or Master’s degree in an Allied Health discipline preferably Speech Pathology (or Occupational Therapy)
- Current Working with Children Blue Card obtained prior to commencement
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance obtained prior to commencement
- Highly motivated, fun and friendly
- Highly aligned with TAG values
- Passionate about working with neurodivergent children and adults and/or people with a disability
- Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to consistently follow a structured therapy plan devised by a qualified Allied Health Professional
