Lang Lang Community Centre is seeking a dynamic new manager ; someone who is passionate and dedicated to developing and building resilience in the local community.
Lang Lang is on the outskirts of one of Victoria’s major urban residential growth corridors. The Community Centre also services the surrounding townships of Caldemeade, Catani, Heath Hill, Koo Wee Rup, Monomeith, Nyora and Poowong.
This exciting opportunity has just become available; we are looking for an innovative and creative person to advance the Centre and to meet the challenges of working within an ever-changing landscape. As the Centre Manager, and reporting to the Centre’s Committee of Governance , you will lead a small team in developing and managing our well established, but rapidly-growing organisation.
The successful candidate will be required to be hands-on and have highly developed leadership, workflow-management and relationship-building skills; as well as great customer/client-facing abilities and good understanding of the demands of working within a community development framework.
Successful applicants will have:
- relevant tertiary qualifications or significant experience working in a similar role
- high level communication and interpersonal skills
- good understanding of the community services sector and community development principles
- significant expertise in:
- business/service development, growth and delivery;
- building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders; and
- staff management
- a demonstrated history of:
- managing and facilitating the delivery of projects; and
- promoting a culture of excellence and inclusive practice
- experience in governance and managing compliance frameworks
- high-level computer skills in:
- Microsoft Office applications; and
- financial management systems (the Centre uses XERO Accounting software)
POSITION CLASSIFICATION: Neighbourhood Houses and Adult and Community Education (NHACE) Centres Collective Agreement 2018 ; under the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award (SCHADS) Schedule 3B Level 7 Pay Table. HOURS: Permanent Part Time 25 hours per week (0.66 FTE).
The Manager is responsible to an overseeing Committee of Governance, for the operation, management and development of the Community Centre and for ensuring that the organisation operates in accordance with the Committee’s strategic directions and decisions; the service agreements with our funding bodies; and with applicable legislation.
