Job Description
About the Department
The Sustainability and Strategy Department works within the Infrastructure Services Directorate and serves both internal and external customers. The team leads and coordinates activities and functions to establish, implement, maintain, provide capability and improve:
- Asset Management
- GIS (Geographical Information System)
- Project Management Office (PMO)
The deliverables of the Sustainability and Strategy Department are to make sure Council remains sustainable now and into the future in the areas of environment, social, economic and financial sustainability in order to create a thriving, healthy, diverse and resilient Southern Downs now and into the future
Your Opportunity
This position develops and schedules strategies and programs for sustainable development and maintenance of Council assets. It plays a key role in d eveloping and implementing asset management systems at strategic and operational levels and assists in the pursuit of continuous improvement of service delivery across the organisation.
Term: Full-time
Hours of Work: 72.5 hours per fortnight
Pay Level: $3,324.54 to $3,784.62 per fortnight (Level 5-6), plus superannuation and annual leave loading
In accordance with Council's Enterprise Agreement and the relevant Award. Pay rate dependant on relevant skills and experience.
Employment Base: Warwick, Queensland

- Development and the maintenance of Council's asset management and maintenance systems.
- Assist with development and implementation of asset management and maintenance strategies.
- Ensure efficient and effective collection and management of asset inventory and condition data for each asset class to assist with Asset Life Cycle Costing and Planning.

Desired Skills and Experience
What You Will Need
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A qualification of at least degree or technical level in engineering, planning or related discipline, or equivalent skills, training and experience.
- A class C (car) licence or greater is required in this role.
- A white construction card or the ability to obtain one is a mandatory requirement for this role.
- Well developed knowledge of contemporary asset management principles and practices as they relate to local government infrastructure assets including asset accounting.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills including proven ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team and effectively manage interactions with staff, customers and the public.
- To be able to demonstrate your competence in relation to all of the Selection Criteria as detailed in the Position Description
