About the role
The Mount Isa Hospital Pharmacy Department provides medicines management services for patients in the North West Hospital and Health Service (NWHHS), including facilities located off-site. A core function of the pharmacy department focuses on promoting the Quality Use of Medicine principles and safe medication practices.
Undertake high level clinical pharmacy duties within a work unit, exercising independent judgement and problem-solving skills in matters beyond routine day to day practice with minimal direct clinical practice supervision.
Provides clinical pharmacy services to all areas, including outlying facilities, within the NWHHS. Deliver clinical pharmacy services via telehealth and other innovative techniques.
Requirements
- Mandatory requirements are a relevant tertiary degree qualification and appropriate registration/licences.
- This position participates in a Pharmacy Department roster plan, which may include an ‘On Call' Service and weekend work.
- This position will require the applicant to travel to remote sites within the North West Hospital and Health Service by both car and air travel. It will involve overnight accommodation.
- C Class Motor Vehicle Licence.
- Pre-employment screening will be conducted for the successful applicant, including Criminal History checks.
- This is a VPD risk role and may require evidence of vaccination or immunity to: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis, and Tuberculosis.
- A period of probation may apply.
