About the Role:
We are currently seeking an experienced Mental Health Support Workers to provide care and support for the following:
- Autism
- Mental Health
- Complex Behaviours
- ADHD
- Work location is at Ivanhoe East
To be successful you must have experience in the above along with the following.
- Experience with Mental Health, Autism and Intellectual Disability, ADHD (Mandatory).
- Experience working with adults with complex behaviours and support needs.
- Engaged and willing to learn, skilled at building rapport.
- Motivated, resilient, and enthusiastic.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Flexibility in hours and times.
Ongoing shifts, 24/7 Roster.
- Morning: 10am – 4pm
- Afternoon: 4pm – 10pm
Duties in this role include:
- Providing in-home assistance and support to participant.
- Assisting participant with challenging behaviours.
- Supporting participant in developing essential life skills and achieving their goals.
- Assisting with transports for appointments and shopping.
- Promoting community engagement and social inclusion.
- Assisting with medication administration.
- Assisting with meal preparation.
- Documenting participant progress notes and records.
- Adhering to the participants care plan and NDIS frameworks.
- Assisting with domestic tasks such general cleaning and laundry.
To be successful in this role you’ll need:
- Valid Right to Work in Australia
- Strong communication skills and a positive attitude
- Minimum 1 year experience as a Mental Health Support Worker
- Certificate III, Certificate IV in Disability, Individual Support.
- Cert IV in Mental Health (preferred)
- Experience assisting complex clients with behavioural issues.
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (required)
- First Aid Certificate HLTAID011 or HLTAID012 (required)
- CPR Certificate HLTAID009 (required)
- Driver’s License and access to a reliable vehicle (required)
- Comprehensive car insurance (required)
- Evidence of Covid vaccinations
- Willing to complete the compliance requirements and certifications once successful.
