About The Role
The Project Director is responsible for leading the successful delivery of multiple projects across various locations, ensuring profitability, client satisfaction, and operational excellence. Acting as the primary leader throughout the project lifecycle, this role oversees all workstreams, including market engagement, team leadership, process management, financial control, and business development. The Project Director works closely with sales, account management, and delivery teams to drive strategic growth within the existing client base while ensuring projects are executed efficiently, on time, and within budget. Through strong leadership, technical expertise, and relationship management, this role plays a critical part in positioning Amicus as a trusted partner in delivering high-quality workplace solutions.
Here are some examples of what you’ll do
- Own key client relationships – Set expectations, oversee contracts, and ensure successful project approvals
- Lead cross-functional project teams – Guide designers, contract administrators, workplace strategists, and construction managers through all project phases
- Ensure seamless project execution – Develop and maintain project plans, workflows, and reporting processes for consistency and efficiency
- Drive profitability and financial control – Meet or exceed project targets, manage cash flow, and oversee financial reporting
- Coach and develop your team – Train and mentor project team members, ensuring best practices and continuous improvement
- Collaborate across the business – Work closely with sales, pre-construction, and operations leaders to align project goals with client expectations
- Champion Amicus standards – Implement procurement standards, maintain compliance, and drive best practices in design and delivery
Here is what will make you ideal for the role
- A minimum of 5+ years Project Management experience, preferably with a Design and Construct Company
- Ideally workspace fit-out experience
- Working knowledge of IT Systems such as Word, Excel, MS Project and ideally an ERP management tool
- Formal qualifications in Project Management or Construction Management are preferred, but not essential
- You have successfully managed complex projects, leading diverse teams and delivering outstanding results
- You can confidently engage clients, stakeholders, and internal teams to ensure alignment and success
- You thrive in structured environments, leveraging systems and best practices to streamline project delivery
- You enjoy mentoring others, continuously improving, and working with cross-functional teams to achieve shared goals
Here is why you might love working for us
- We do a 9-day fortnight
- We do 2 days in the office/week and the rest from anywhere
- We’re goals driven, not hours driven. So, if your day can include a walk, a school pickup, some sport – go for it
- We are positively influencing people’s lives by defining, designing and delivering inspirational workspaces that invigorate and energise people and entire organisations
- We offer stability and growth path – we’ve been doing this for our people since 2005 and we consistently have a strong pipeline
Here is what might not work for you
- We value personal growth and feedback. So, we’ll look for opportunities to develop you and often this will be through feedback which will be both constructive and kind. This works for us but we recognise it’s not for everyone
- Our projects have a fast turnaround timeframe and we have many on the go at once
- We hire with confidence. We can because our recruitment process is thorough (but not lengthy). So it will include interview questions that dive into your experience and reference checks
