About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Natural Capital Soils Facilitator to play a key role in advancing soil health initiatives across the South Coast region. This position is part of the Know Your Southern Soils project, a partnership between South Coast NRM and the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD), funded through the National Soil Action Plan.
The successful candidate will be solutions-focused, a self-starter, and a highly collaborative facilitator, with strong technical expertise in soil health and sustainable land management, and knowledge of natural capital approaches.
As Natural Capital Soils Facilitator, you will:
- Engage and support farmers, landholders, and industry groups in improving soil health and integrating soils into natural capital frameworks.
- Lead soil extension, workshops, and field demonstrations to showcase best-practice soil management and economic insights.
- Foster collaboration with research institutions, government agencies, and grower groups to enhance soil data collection and adoption of improved practices.
- Manage project delivery and reporting, ensuring outcomes align with contractual and organisational objectives.
- Contribute to workforce training and mentoring, helping to build capability in soil science and environmental accounting.
- Support funding applications and partnership development to grow South Coast NRM’s soil-focused initiatives.
