- Salary $104,180 - $116,693 (Pro Rata) MeS3 | Part Time 18.75 hours p.w. - Contract Until Mar 2026
SALHN collaborates with Flinders University to generate breakthroughs in medical research.
About the role:
Reporting to the Professor of Surgery, in this role you will establish the framework for a consolidated biobank that stores biospecimens for research, including the necessary ethics/governance frameworks and a sustainable business model.
Duties for the role will include:
- Develop a business plan that will ensure a sustainable bioresource for researchers and provide a model for future research investment,
- Contributing to the development of an integrated team approach and culture which is highly responsive to the needs of our consumers,
- Develop the ethics and governance frameworks for a consolidated Flinders Biobank and Biospecimen Collection that supports researchers from SALHN and Flinders University,
- Develop processes that streamline biospecimen collection, processing, storage, inventory management and dispatch.
- Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Applied Science (Medical Laboratory Science) or equivalent,
- Good Clinical Practice for Research Professionals (ACRP),
- Ability to perform work of a very high standard,
- Proven experience in establishing and/or maintaining a Biobank or bioresource facility.
