About the Opportunity

Are you passionate about the integrity of greyhound racing and have a keen eye for detail? Be a driving force in ensuring the highest standards of welfare and integrity in the NSW greyhound racing industry. We're offering a unique and dynamic opportunity for a Casual Steward to join GWIC in the Sydney Metro region.

We're seeking individuals with strong communication skills, capable of engaging with a diverse population. The ideal candidates will demonstrate the ability to deal with diverse and time-pressured situations in a professional and courteous manner.

As a Casual Steward, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that greyhound racing meetings run smoothly and in accordance with Greyhound Racing Rules.

Key Responsibilities:


- Officiate at greyhound racing meetings across various locations in NSW.
- Control on-track racing activities, including overseeing all aspects of the races.
- Manage kennelling procedures to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Oversee or conduct sampling of greyhounds for prohibited substance detection.
- Prepare detailed reports and resolve any incidents.

Key Requirements:


- Some experience as a racing official, or relevant regulatory experience or knowledge of betting markets is beneficial
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent observational skills and attention to detail
- Effective collaboration in a highly regulated industry.
- Commitment to Workplace Health and Safety guidelines.
- Current NSW Driver Licence, and willingness to travel and work rosters outside normal business hours

Eligibility
