Description:
An opportunity exists for an experienced Tax Accountant to join our friendly team at our Penshurst office. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work full-time or flexible part-time hours, such as four days per week. The office is conveniently located near Penshurst railway station.
We are a proactive firm of Chartered Accountants, Financial Planners and Solicitors requiring an ambitious tax / business services accountant with a minimum of 3 years experience.
About the role
You will assist the Principal, a Chartered Accountant, Certified Financial Planner and Self-Managed Superannuation Fund Specialist Advisor, in preparing financial statements and providing taxation advice for a portfolio of business and professional clients.
You will be completing or have completed your CA/CPA qualifications, have a minimum of 3 years experience, and be enthusiastic about continual learning. This role is ideal for a results-driven professional, passionate about delivering client-centric taxation and business services advice and building long-term relationships. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to manage a portfolio of clients and specialise in taxation planning and wealth creation. Internal and external training is offered for the suitable applicant to enhance their skills and knowledge.
Key responsibilities for this role include:
• Manage a portfolio of business and professional clients
• Maintain and nurture client relationships
• Preparation of financial statements for all entities
• Preparation and lodgement of activity statements
• Preparation of taxation advice
• Liaise with other Accountants and provide assistance within the team when necessary
To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following:
• A minimum of 3 years solid experience in public practice, dealing with accounting and tax for small businesses and professionals.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• The ability to work autonomously and as a team member
• Proven experience dealing with a portfolio of clients
• Proven experience with taxation clients
• Ability to assist other accountants and administrative staff
• Previous experience with software such as MYOB, Xero, Class, BGL and Handisoft would be considered desirable
