We’re a family-run business, deeply rooted in values that span generations. As we expand, we’re looking for a Irrigation Technician to join us on this exciting journey and play a pivotal role in the future of Rombola Family Farms team based in Nericon, NSW. The Irrigation Technician will play a vital role in maintaining the health and productivity of crops by ensuring they receive the proper amount of water at the right times. Their expertise in irrigation systems and water management is essential for the success of the farm's produce.
Key accountabilities include:
- Turns irrigation systems on and off as designated.
- Repairs and replaces hoses, pipes, and numerous types of sprinkler heads and fixtures.
- Operates timers, clocks, and controls for sprinklers.
- Replaces or repairs irrigation valves.
- Installs or repairs irrigation lines.
- May assist in various maintenance activities as required.
- Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies.
- Promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
To be successful in the role you will possess the following:
- At least three years related experience and may have, or be undertaking, AQF Certificate I, or compulsory secondary education.
- Ability to install, operate, troubleshoot, and repair manual and/or computerized irrigation systems.
- Knowledge of basic plumbing and electrical systems.
- Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures and enforce safety procedures.
- Ability to perform irrigation tasks such as operate timers, clocks, and controls for sprinklers.
- Initiative and integrity.
- Flexibility in hours worked to achieve operational targets.
- A valid driver's license and reliable transportation is essential.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
