About the role

As a Quality Officer within Major Projects, you will provide valuable subject matter expertise and assurance of the quality aspects of capital infrastructure projects throughout the delivery phase of the project.

Working in collaboration with project teams and Delivery Partners, you will ensure consistency, accuracy and efficiency of the Sydney Water Quality Management Systems.

The main responsibilities of the role are:

  • Ensure policies and procedures align with the Sydney Water Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Understand Sydney Water Technical Specifications (Civil, Electrical, Mechanical) and make sure contractor documentation complies.
  • Review Quality Management Plans to check for compliance.
  • Review and approve Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) with Delivery Partners, ensuring they meet Sydney Water specs.
  • Carry out inspections to confirm project documentation is being followed.
  • Perform regular site checks on major projects to ensure hold/witness points are compliant with Sydney Water specs.
  • Raise action reports for any non-compliance found on site.
  • Track and analyze monthly/quarterly KPIs for major projects to spot performance and compliance trends.

Success Factors– What we are looking for in a person

  • Tertiary qualification in business, engineering or related field, or experience deemed equivalent.
  • Construction Industry Induction White Card
  • Experience with infrastructure projects in the water industry or similar
  • Current knowledge of relevant quality and construction legislation
