Ground Handler Position - Gold Coast Airport (Bilinga)
We are a leading FBO (Fixed Base Operator) with locations at both Gold Coast Airport and Essendon Fields Airport. Due to an increase in business, we are seeking a Ground Handler to join our team at our Gold Coast Airport location in Bilinga. You will play a critical multiskilled role that includes handling of operations, baggage handling and refueling to ensure a seamless experience for passengers and crew. We are looking for an immediate start for the right candidate.
Role Overview:
As a Ground Handler, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional service to our clients, both existing and potential, while contributing to the efficient execution of all administrative tasks related to international and domestic flights. As our FBO operates 24/7, your role will be part of a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays.
Working Hours:
- 38 hours per week, with additional hours as required.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required by flight schedules.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advance Communication – Liaise with flight operators, crew, and handling agents to confirm schedules and special requirements.
- Discreet & Efficient Check-In – Provide high-level customer service to executive clients, ensuring a discreet, seamless and professional experience.
- Marshallers & Ramp Handling – Safely guide and secure aircraft at designated parking positions.
- Baggage Handling – Secure and discreet handling of luggage with expedited loading/unloading.
- Towing Services - Operate and maintain towing equipment and other specialist vehicles.
- Aircraft Lavatory & Water Services – Ensure clean and stocked facilities onboard.
- Refueling Coordination – Arrange timely refueling as per flight requirements and maintain fuel equipment and fuel logs.
- Catering Delivery – Ensure high-quality catering services are ordered as required and properly stored.
- Luxury Transportation – Arrange private limousines, chauffeur services, or VIP transfers.
- Ground Transportation for Crew – Arrange transport to hotels or designated rest areas.
- Fast-Track Security & Customs – Coordinate with customs and immigration to ensure correct documentation provided for expedited clearance while complying with regulations.
- Ramp Safety Procedures – Work collaboratively with the operations team to ensure smooth, efficient, and safe ground handling.
- Real-Time Communication – Maintain constant updates between all handling teams.
- Emergency Response Preparedness – Have contingency plans in place for weather disruptions or technical issues.
- 24/7 Availability – Ensure round-the-clock support for last-minute changes and requirements.
- Lounge & Rest Areas – Ensure a clean and organised FBO is maintained for VIP clients and crew members.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Strong organisational and time management abilities.
- High attention to detail.
- High level of honesty, ethics, and confidentiality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining safety and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of the aviation industry is advantageous.
- Aircraft refueling experience highly desirable.
- A reliable vehicle is required.
- HR License (preferred but not essential).
- Impeccable appearance for client-facing interactions.
- Ability to obtain an ASIC
- Ability to gain dangerous good awareness certification
