Description:
SA Metro Care is seeking passionate Female Disability Support Workers to join our team on a casual basis within supported independent living model (SIL). You will be providing high-quality care and support to individuals living with psychosocial disability in the Morphett Vale area. This is an opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of the people we support while enjoying the flexibility of shift work on a 24 hrs roster with AM, PM, active/passive overnight supports including weekend work.
You will be working with a young females with complex needs including behaviours of concern.

Experience working with people with mental health issues (Essential).
Current DHS clearance: disability related clearance and/or NDIS worker screening check (Essential).
Minimum Cert IV in Mental Health and/or Cert III in Disability (Essential).
NDIS Quality Safety and You Certificate (Essential)
Current unrestricted South Australian driver’s license and own vehicle with comprehensive car insurance (Essential).
First Aid Certificate.
Assist clients with medication certificate (Essential).
Experience and Skills:
Understanding psycho-social mental health disability with a minimum of 1-year experience in the field.
Demonstrated conflict management skills.
Experience with problem-solving with client challenges
Experience working one on one with clients
Good communication skills that results in trust and reliance
Ability to cope under stressful situations when arise with client health concerns
Key Responsibilities include:
Providing one on one support to people living with a disability
Providing social and emotional support, engaging clients in recreational and educational activities
Collaborating with the wider support team to deliver coordinated, person-centred care
Assistance with meal preparation and nutrition
Advocating for clients' needs and ensuring their rights are upheld
Building clients individual capacity for independent living skills
Responding to behaviours of concern and working as a team to support the client’s well-being
Case notes and record-keeping
Working with SA Metro Care to support client’s goals and plans
Following policies and procedures, including NDIS Code of Conduct
Adhere to Duty of Care policies
