Our client, a leading integrated services and infrastructure provider in Australia and New Zealand, seeks a Senior Business Analyst to support technology-driven business analysis and demand pipeline governance. The role involves streamlining the technology demand pipeline, clearing and supporting technology investment requests. It requires strong business case development expertise and the ability to deliver impactful technology solutions. Reporting to the IT Portfolio Manager, the Senior Business Analyst will provide data-driven insights to optimize project prioritization and resource allocation, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives. The analyst will work closely with stakeholders, project managers, and the wider team to support strategic decision-making and effective portfolio management.

Key responsibilities
- Assess project feasibility, strategic alignment, and ROI in collaboration with the IT Portfolio Manager and business leaders.
- Conduct solution research (desktop, etc.) and recommend solutions in consultation with Solution Architect.
- Facilitate portfolio prioritization by analyzing business requirements and resource impacts.
- Identify and capture business requirements and translate them into actionable plans.
- Document resource requirements for upcoming projects and initiatives.
- Track portfolio risks and issues, and develop risk mitigation strategies.
- Communicate portfolio performance, prioritization, and value realization to stakeholders.
Essential criteria
- Tertiary qualification in Information Technology or equivalent industry experience.
- 5+ years of experience in a business analysis role (ideally within a PMO, program, or portfolio management setting)
- Strong background in analyzing project requirements and providing ROI and benefits analysis.
- Extensive experience in business analysis, process design, requirements gathering, and business case development (preferably in construction or engineering domains).
- Knowledge of Portfolio Management frameworks, Agile, or other relevant methodologies.
