Our Rare Earths deposit in Mt Weld, Western Australia, is acknowledged as one of the highest-grade Rare Earths mine in the world and we operate the world’s largest single Rare Earths processing plant in Malaysia – so you’re joining a very unique team! As a team member you will be contributing to the sustainable supply of rare earths metals which are used in oil & gas, electric vehicles, and wind turbines.
An opportunity exists for a HSE Superintendent to join Lynas Rare Earths. This role is responsible for providing HSE leadership to a team who plan, implement, evaluate and continuously improve health, safety and environmental (HSE) systems and processes to ensure that the Mt Weld Operation prevents injuries or health impairments and minimizes the environmental impacts of its activities. This is a FIFO position from Perth to our Mt Weld Operations on an 8/6 roster.
As a highly valued member of the Lynas Rare Earths team, you will:
- Provide support, coordination and advice of safety practices, systems, and procedures
- Develop and administer education and compliance programs for employees, contractors, and visitors
- Recommend opportunities to improve the systems and processes for health and safety
- Assist in maintaining Training Matrix and communication to employees
- Conduct risk management activities as per procedures
What you will bring to the team:
- Extensive experience working within construction industry in HSE supervisory role
- Understanding of relevant legislation, codes of practice and standards in Western Australia
- Excellent written communication skills and the ability to develop HSE documentation
- Demonstrated ability to work well within a fast paced, high-performance team
- Be familiar with ISO requirements
Qualifications and/or Skills:
- Qualification in Occupational Health & Safety
- Certificate IV in Training & Assessing (desired)
