An exciting new chapter for Catholic education in Leederville, Western Australia has been announced as Aranmore Catholic Primary School and Aranmore Catholic College will amalgamate to create a new K-12 College from the start of the 2026 school year.
The new College will work in partnership with St Mary’s Parish as part of an inclusive, thriving Catholic community where students, parents, and staff are encouraged to join together to enrich and celebrate their faith, including through the running of a comprehensive parish-based sacramental program.
The College will be built upon a comprehensive educational philosophy in which students of all backgrounds and abilities are supported to achieve their full potential via a broad and balanced curriculum. The College philosophy is supported by a pedagogical approach that recognises and fosters a holistic, developmentally appropriate learning environment.
The Primary Campus (Pre-K-6) offers a modern, student-focused approach to education, fostering a safe and supportive learning environment through strong pastoral connections. The dynamic and engaging curriculum encourages inquiry-based learning with a strong emphasis on literacy and numeracy. Tailored intervention and extension programs ensure that every child receives the support and challenges they need to thrive. Specialist programs enhance curriculum provision which include Science, Music, Dance, Physical Education and Italian.
The Secondary Campus offers a comprehensive curriculum, designed to foster independent learning within a supportive environment. A diverse range of programs nurtures students’ spiritual, intellectual, physical, social and emotional growth, including specialised support for speakers of languages other than English. An Academic Extension Program is offered to students in Years 7, 8 and 9. In Years 11 and 12, both university entrance and vocational pathways are available with a strong focus on ensuring all students achieve secondary graduation. The College offers specialist sporting programs in Netball and Rugby, alongside robust Music and Art programs introduced to all students upon entering high school in Year 7.

In addition to the duties and responsibilities of the Principal, the community seeks a principal who:
- Promotes the Catholic identity of the College by aligning with its vision, mission, and educational goals, celebrating the heritage of both schools, and advancing the evangelising mission of the Catholic Church.
- Supports and collaborates with the Parish to strengthen the school community in keeping education in Faith central to its vision and providing social justice opportunities for staff and students to bring Faith to life in the community.
- Nurtures and develops cultural rituals, practices, and symbols, providing students with meaningful opportunities to deepen their understanding of the Catholic tradition while honouring the charisms of the Mercy Sisters and Christian Brothers.
- Places learning at the centre of all planning, offering a diverse, flexible curriculum with contemporary pedagogy to supports each student’s holistic development. Reviews specialist programs to ensure each student has opportunities for growth in a K-12 context.
- Fosters a culture that recognises and nurtures the potential of all students, providing high-quality learning experiences to help them realise their God-given abilities, with a strong focus on literacy and numeracy through evidence-based practices.
- Leads a collaborative, data-informed model of professional practice focused on school improvement and innovation, while providing staff with growth opportunities through professional development, constructive feedback, and leadership roles.
- Maintains a strong presence across both campuses, using exceptional interpersonal skills to foster open, respectful and authentic relationships with staff, students, parents, and parish and community stakeholders
- Proven ability to lead and sustain a safe, inclusive and welcoming learning environment that values diversity, fosters equity and supports the growth, engagement and well-being of students, staff, and the wider school community.
- Works collaboratively with school, system, and community members to plan, manage, and sustain finances and facilities that address current and future needs, while promoting sustainability initiatives to protect the environment.
- Demonstrates strong skills and attributes in collaboration, operational management, and strategic, agile leadership, with a deep understanding of the unique context of an amalgamated College community.
Essential Selection Criteria:
- Practising Catholic and experienced educator committed to Catholic Education.
- Accredited for Leadership of a Catholic School Community or equivalent.
- Minimum four (4) year tertiary qualification (progress towards a master's or higher is advantageous).
- Current Teachers Registration for Western Australia (TRBWA).
- Current WA Working with Children Check (WA WWCC).
