Due to being awarded a new project in Elko, Nevada, USA we have an exciting opportunity for an Experienced Underground Auto Electrician to join us in our US Operations on a 6 week on, 3 weeks off roster.
The emphasis of the role is ensuring that the local workers are developing their skills and knowledge by way of sharing your experience and being a role model. You will require boundless energy, resilience, determination, and a genuine interest in working with people from different cultures.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Carry out scheduled servicing to mobile equipment in a safe manner and in accordance with procedures, regulations, and the service sheet.
- Utilise skill and experience to create minimum downtime on machinery.
- Ensure correct recording and reporting of maintenance is achieved.
- Maintain a high level of housekeeping in workshop and working areas at all times, ensure all parts are kept at minimum stock levels.
- Read and interpret Service and Spare parts manuals.
- Report all equipment faults to the Maintenance Foreman for scheduling into the workshop weekly Minimum Requirements:
Essential Requirements:
- A demonstrated passion for safety and a proactive attitude toward ensuring that safety is front of mind for all employees at all times.
- A sound knowledge on Sandvik U/G Development/Production Drills and Loaders
- Experience on Caterpillar Underground Loaders
- Proven knowledge on remote control systems either RCT or Automine.
- Experienced in training less qualified tradespeople to a high standard in a high productivity underground contracting mining environment.
- Strong background working with latest generation underground mobile equipment and associated automation systems.
- At least 5 years post apprenticeship experience working within the underground mining industry on large mobile equipment.
- Self-starter who will work with minimal supervision.
- Excellent service and maintenance approach to the job.
- International Driver’s License.
