Company Overview:

BuildTek Supplies Pty Ltd specialises in the manufacturing of light gauge steel wall and roof frames for residential housing. We produce components for modular housing in collaboration with projects delivered by our parent company, Providence Lifestyle Group.

We are seeking a hands-on Factory Manager to lead our production team and ensure the efficient start-up and operation of our manufacturing facility.

Position Summary:

The Factory Manager will oversee the daily operations of the factory, managing a small crew of contract machine operators. This role requires a hands-on approach, particularly in the early stages, working directly with machinery and digital files.

As the factory increases its’ capacity, the Factory Manager will play a crucial role in expanding our supply to external traditional residential builders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the daily operations of the factory.
  • Supervise and lead a small team of contract machine operators.
  • Work hands-on with machinery and digital files to ensure production efficiency.
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and quality standards.
  • Coordinate with the related group company to align production with modular housing requirements.
  • Develop and implement strategies to expand supply to external traditional residential builders.
  • Maintain inventory levels and manage supply chain logistics.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any production issues.
  • Ensure timely delivery of products to clients.
  • Maintain accurate production records and reports.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in engineering, manufacturing or production management.
  • Strong hands-on experience with machinery and digital files.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Knowledge of light gauge steel manufacturing processes is a plus.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Forklift and truck license desirable.
