Section Manager (Structural)

As a result of our continued growth, with over $1.5 billion of work-in-hand Georgiou have an immediate need for a Structural Section Manager/Lead within our engineering team for the Tonkin Extension Alliance project. Ideally candidates will live CBD central or south or the river as the location will be near Byford. The Section Manager will report to the Delivery Manager, and will be responsible for managing a central section of major concrete and structural works on the project.
What you're good at:
* Demonstrated experience as a Structural Lead/Section Manager in a similar role within the construction industry
* A working knowledge of implementing and monitoring project management plans
* Able to demonstrate daily productivity and cost control skills and prior forecasting experience
* Demonstrated experience managing subcontractors and suppliers for site works
* Attends to the scope of work assigned with defined work methods and delivers the work in accordance with total project schedule.
* Prepares short term (4 weekly or as otherwise directed) look ahead programs, and provides input into the project schedule, status of works and reporting requirements.
* Measure and review productivity for assigned tasks and report formally to the project team and collaborate in driving any required changes
* Maintains and updates (or assists others to maintain) the contract program, including productivity units and ensuring the timely notification of EOT's or Delay
Required Skills and Experience:
* Structures experience essential - reinforced concrete and PT
* Degree in either Civil Engineering or Construction Management
* Able to demonstrate development and management of a number of subordinate engineers
* Able to demonstrate managerial acumen in areas such as Contract awareness and commercial control
* Excellent technical knowledge of all aspects of commercial engineering
* Be comfortable presenting to large audiences (lots of stakeholder engagement)
* Experience working on large project would be advantageous
* Experience in coordinating and/or running toolbox meetings, pre-start meetings, site inductions and a demonstrated commitment to HSEQ practices
* Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills which enable you to assist in resolution of client and key stakeholders' concerns
* Experience of guiding and leading other engineers
* Civil Engineering or Construction Management degree
* Current experience working in a similar role
* Demonstrated experience in managing / overseeing a project or an assigned section of a project
