Description:
Indigeco is supporting a major Federal Government department in sourcing an APS6 Travel and Credit Cards Officer for a 3 + 6 months contract. Reporting to the Assistant Director, you will play a critical role in supporting travel and credit card processes, ensuring compliance, and delivering high-quality financial administration.Only Australian Citizens with a valid Baseline Clearance are eligible to apply for this role.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Respond to travel and credit card enquiries received via hotline and email.
- Provide system administration and support for the Expense 8 system.
- Manage Credit Cards Master records, NAB portal registry, and coordinate card deliveries.
- Maintain and update travel and credit card information on the intranet.
- Conduct weekly checks and follow-ups on overdue credit card acquittals.
- Perform financial processes, including Expense 8 end-of-month reconciliations and preparation of the monthly credit statements.
- Process correction journals, Uber statement allocations, and ad-hoc journal requests.
- Detect, investigate, and report non-compliance cases in the Financial Management Compliance System (FMCS).
- Work closely with the Data Analysis and Reporting Team for monthly reporting.
- Assist with managing international travel responsibilities, including reviewing travel minutes, building trips in Expense 8, and preparing travel documentation.
- Prepare Senate Estimate briefs, Questions on Notice (QoNs), Parliamentary Questions on Notice (PQoNs), and executive briefs as required.
- Provide annual updates on Remuneration Tribunal travel rates and update accommodation limits with CTM in line with ATO determinations.
- Demonstrated experience in finance, travel administration, or credit card management within a government or corporate setting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess financial transactions and resolve issues efficiently.
- Experience with financial reconciliation, compliance reporting, and end-of-month processes.
- Proficiency in financial systems, including Expense 8, and other relevant software.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply financial policies and procedures.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to engage with key business stakeholders.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality outcomes.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while escalating issues when necessary.
