It provides high-quality care and educational programs for children aged 3 months to 5 years. Role Overview
As Educational Leader , you will:
- Collaborate with educators to guide and implement an innovative and reflective curriculum.
- Lead the development and continuous improvement of the educational program, ensuring alignment with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework (VEYLDF).
- Provide mentoring, coaching, and support for educators to enhance their practices, with a focus on fostering critical reflection and professional growth.
Responsibilities
Educational Leadership:
- Mentor educators in planning cycles, regulatory compliance, and the integration of the EYLF and VEYLDF frameworks.
- Oversee the critical reflection process, promoting consistency in curriculum quality.
- Lead professional development sessions for educators, including twice-yearly training opportunities for families.
- Actively participate in appraisals, offering constructive feedback and setting development goals for staff.
- Drive the implementation and review of the Quality Improvement Plan (QIP), collaborating with the team to ensure continuous improvement.
Management Support:
- Aid in ensuring compliance with the Education & Care Services National Law Act 2010 and National Regulations 2011 .
- Contribute to staff recruitment, induction, and mentorship in partnership with the Assistant and Centre Managers.
- Organise events, excursions, and community activities while liaising with families to build engagement.
- Represent NSCCC in committee and community meetings as needed.
Child and Family Relationships:
- Build strong, trusting relationships with families and children.
- Uphold confidentiality and advocate for child-focused decision-making.
- Facilitate effective communication between educators, families, and external professionals to enhance children’s learning experiences.
Key Selection Criteria
- Qualifications
- Do you hold a Bachelor of Early Childhood Education, Diploma or an ACECQA-approved equivalent qualification?
- Experience
- How many years' experience do you have in the Early Childhood sector?
- Have you held a leadership or management role before?
- Knowledge
- Can you demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of guiding frameworks, legislation, and ethical codes relevant to Early Childhood Education?
- Are you proficient in the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework (VEYLDF), and the National Quality Standards (NQS)?
- Skills
- How would you describe your interpersonal and communication abilities?
- Can you provide examples of your ability to lead, mentor, and inspire a team?
