Are you passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of individuals with disabilities? A rewarding opportunity is available for an experienced Team Leader Disability Day Program to oversee the daily operations of a dynamic program while mentoring and supporting a team of Disability Support Workers.
About the Role
The Day Program Team Leader will be responsible for the coordination of a day program service which ensures access to appropriate, enjoyable and inclusive activities for people with disabilities. This includes:
- Leading and mentoring staff with the person-centred development implementation, and educating them on participants’ Positive Behaviour Support Plans.
- Review of individual plans in conjunction with relevant stakeholders.
- Developing and implementing innovative day programs that align with participants' individual NDIS plans.
- Providing hands-on support to participants, fostering meaningful and engaging experiences.
- Managing rostering and shift allocation using an employee self-service system.
Selection Criteria
To be successful in the role you will have the following:
- Leadership & Service Delivery – Experience overseeing a disability support team within the NDIS framework, ensuring high-quality service delivery.
- Expertise in Disability Support – At least 3 years' experience working with individuals with disabilities, including managing complex behaviours and implementing Positive Behaviour Support Plans.
- Regulatory & Compliance Knowledge – Strong understanding of NDIS Quality and Safeguarding Commission standards, NDIS Code of Conduct, and necessary clearances (NDIS Worker Clearance, Working Rights, and COVID-19 vaccination compliance).
- Operational & Administrative Skills – Proficiency in rostering, staffing management, and intermediate computer skills to adapt to new systems efficiently.
- Education & Qualifications – Relevant certifications (Certificate IV in Disability, Certificate III or IV in Team Leadership) and a valid Victorian driver licence.
Mandatory requirements for this role include relevant probity and pre-employment checks, such as a Working with Children Check, NDIS Worker Screening Check, and a First Aid/CPR Certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
