The Role
As a director level stat planner you will provide advice that will shape the built environment of our cities. Your success will expand our reach helping hundreds of exciting development projects come to life by being the expert relied on by a combination of developers and architects. Qualifications & experience
As a director level planner, here are the skills that are the 'must haves' for the role:
- Well rounded, experience with a combination of technical knowledge and client facing experience.
- Insightful interpersonal and communication skills - you must be an excellent communicator who understands how to frame a message.
- A minimum of 10 years professional statutory town planning experience in local government or private consultancy. A combination of both will be held in high regard.
- Demonstrated experience in an SME is critical.
- This is a somewhat autonomous position, you should be self - sufficient andself motivated.
- Crafting prescriptive professional advice about town planning requirements to a combination of clients, architects and consultants.
- Empathic and pragmatic approach to negotiations with a combination of clients, stakeholders, architects and consultants.
- Knowledge of local government process ' for statutory planning permits and knowledge of the requirements of zones, overlays and particular provisions of planning schemes.
- Demonstrated experience in preparation or assessment of statutory town planning applications for a wide ranging number of land use and development applications.
- Demonstrated advocacy experience on behalf of clients.
- Previous experience appearing at VCAT in town planning matters.
- Tertiary Qualification in Statutory Town Planning or a related field.

Tasks & responsibilities
- Crafting professional town planning advice for a combination of architects, clients and professional consultants.

- Client management to ensure customer expectations are exceeded to maximise referral opportunities.
- Advocacy and negotiaiton.
