In this role as a Team Leader - Statutory Planning, you will effectively lead, manage, motivate, and develop a team to achieve successful business outcomes. You'll manage work activities, monitor performance, and provide leadership to maintain an effective and motivated team. The Statutory Planning function includes responsibilities to review and respond to planning applications in a timely, coordinated, and efficient manner.
Position Outcomes:
Apply well-developed specialist skills to represent the department at senior meetings and hearings.
Negotiate with and influence key stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes.
Provides expert planning advice for complex planning applications related to traffic impacts and road access planning matters.
Assess complex or high-risk planning referrals and seek approval from relevant committees.
Perform other duties consistent with employment classification, skills, and capabilities.
Key Selection Criteria:
As the Team Leader Statutory Planning, you will manage and develop a high-performing team, providing timely and constructive feedback, understanding individual needs, and optimising employee engagement. You'll seek opportunities to enhance team members' skills through coaching and learning opportunities. With a strong customer focus, you will identify and respond to customer requirements, manage service delivery risks, and communicate effectively with stakeholders. You'll build and nurture stakeholder relationships and apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills to deliver tangible business outcomes.
Qualifications and Experience:
Tertiary qualification relevant to Statutory Planning and/or Traffic Engineering, or extensive relevant experience.
Experience of managing planning applications in growth areas.
