The Making Corporation is proud to partner with a leading Australian manufacturer of quality and innovative sleep and bedding products, to appoint a Management Accountant.
Based in Campbellfield and boasting a rich heritage tracing back to 1956, our client has been providing Australian families with premium products for over 60 years.
Primary Purpose of the Position:The Management Accountant will support the CFO in driving financial planning, financial analysis, and operational decision-making. This role is integral to the success of the business, focusing on cost analysis, budgeting, variance reporting, payroll processing, and factory/warehouse operations analysis to enhance efficiency and profitability. The ideal candidate will understand financial analytics, possess commercial acumen, and actively contribute to improving processes through regular interaction with the operations and commercial teams. A growth-oriented culture exists where continuous learning is a key part of the role.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) - 75%Assist the CFO in preparing annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and strategic financial plans.Develop financial models to assess performance trends and conduct variance analysis.Prepare and present financial reports and management dashboards to track key metrics.Conduct business case evaluations, scenario planning, and sensitivity analysis.Analyse manufacturing costs and operations, identifying cost-saving opportunities and process improvements.Support profitability analysis, including margin evaluation, cost-benefit assessments, and product costing.Ensure compliance with financial policies and assist with month-end and year-end closing.
Manufacturing & Operations AnalysisEvaluate cost structures and operational KPIs, including production efficiency, material, labor, and overhead costs.Partner with operations teams to improve manufacturing processes and cost controls.Identify cost-saving and efficiency improvement initiatives.
Payroll Processing & Cost Control - 25%Manage payroll processing with a focus on compliance and accurate calculations in collaboration with external payroll providers.Ensure accurate payroll accounting and general ledger reconciliation, including tax withholdings and statutory reporting.Oversee payroll-related compliance, taxes, benefits administration, and reporting.Drive process improvements to enhance payroll efficiency and system integration with HR and accounting systems.
Team Leadership & DevelopmentOversee the accounts receivable team and costing assistant, managing the credit control function, and driving cash flow improvements.Lead and mentor the accounts receivable team, ensuring timely debt collection and process enhancements.In 18 months, take on a more senior role, with opportunities for leadership development.
