Join Yarra Trams in delivering world-class transport! Ensure tram availability by being the main interface between Rolling Stock Operations and Supply Chain to ensure part availability across the depot network. Use your understanding of People, Process and Systems to be a valued member of the Supply Chain team embedded within the Depot network.



Role Purpose



Tram availability ensures on-time service for Melbourne. As the link between Rolling Stock Depot Operations and Supply Chain, you'll ensure parts arrive where and when needed. Area Managers support daily depot operations while driving improvements, visiting multiple sites daily and all sites within their region weekly. They act as the single contact for part availability issues.



Responsibilities


  • Manage inventory levels and stocking parameters for depots in your region.
  • Oversee stocktakes, cyclic counting, and inventory reviews with depot staff.
  • Conduct storeroom reviews and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support Quality Alerts, Breakpoints, Obsolescence, and new product introduction.
  • Ensure 100% part availability for planned activities through Advanced Material Planning.
  • Manage the Rotable returns process, including requisitions and failure tracking.
  • Resolve part availability issues to support tram availability and planned works.



Skills and Experience


  • 5+ years in Supply Chain Management, logistics, and team leadership.
  • Experience in unionized environments and managing HR/IR issues.
  • Expertise in end-to-end logistics, inventory, ERP systems, and kitting.
  • Strong understanding of S&OP, supply-demand management, and problem-solving.
  • Skilled in leading stock takes, cycle counting, and governance processes.
  • Advanced data analysis using Excel, Business Objects, and Tableau.
  • Proficient in visual management for progress tracking and reporting.


Qualifications and licenses


  • Victorian Drivers Licence (Mandatory)
  • Forklift Licence (Desirable)
