Cloudera Data Engineer

As The Cloudera Data Engineer, you'll bring your Cloudera expertise and experience working in big data enterprise environments to a multi disciplined team of data professionals. This opportunity will see you act as a Cloudera SME, on a part time roster, supported by two mid-level direct reports.
Essential

• Extensive experience with CDP Cloudera Data Platform
• Experience leading a Cloudera team and/or function
• Proven capability working with Big Data ideally in a finance or banking environment
• Large scale AWS Data Architecture experience including different data modelling techniques.

Valuable additional skills

• Experience in one or more of the following Amazon Data Services (Redshift, Glue, RDS, EMR).
• Commercial experience in at least one programming language, such as Python, Java, or Scala.
• Proficient in Spark SQL, with proven ability in tuning and optimisation.
• Proven hands-on experience in developing and supporting ETL frameworks and tooling.

Responsibilities

• Providing technical and hands on management of the Cloudera function
• Managing a Junior to Mid-Level Cloudera team including two offshore resources
• Coordinating with the wider Data Engineering team to ensure SLAs and milestones are met
