We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Full-Time Chef to join their kitchen team. If you have a passion for cooking, strong leadership skills, and a keen eye for detail, we’d love to hear from you!
Responsibilities:
As a Chef at Fitz Cafe Wagga Wagga, your key duties will include:
- Planning, directing, and overseeing food preparation, cooking, and presentation in the kitchen.
- Managing stock levels and ensuring all ingredients are fresh and available.
- Working closely with kitchen staff to coordinate provisioning and purchasing of supplies.
- Developing and refining menus that align with customer preferences and seasonal trends.
- Cooking and seasoning dishes following the business' recipes and industry standards.
- Ensuring food quality, portion control, and attractive presentation.
- Training, mentoring, and supervising kitchen staff, including demonstrating advanced cooking techniques.
- Assisting and supporting the Head Chef in daily operations and special projects.
- Maintaining strict food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness standards in compliance with health regulations.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Must have 2 years of experience
- Diploma in hospitality or equivalent in related area
- Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
- Great customer service skills
- A problem solving with the ability to work under pressure
- Confident and able to negotiate with persuasion
- Must have strong skills across all sections
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Up-to-date knowledge of cooking techniques and industry trends
- Familiarity with workplace safety and sanitation regulations
Salary:
The role offers a remuneration package ranging from $70,000 - $80,000 , plus superannuation , based on a 38-hour work week .
