Description:

Camlin Investments is the largest privately owned Cryogenic Transport company in Australia. Delivering Dangerous Goods across all states, and employing over 70 permanent staff, we have vehicles based in Tamworth, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Brisbane.

The Fleet Allocator will join our Operations Team, working out of our Transport Depot in Tamworth. You will join a strong and cohesive team that works together to ensure the smooth running of our transport operations - including drivers, fleet and customer demand.

The Role

This is a high communication role - dealing with our drivers and clients multiple times on a daily basis. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Allocator will operate according to established policies and safety standards including Chain of Responsibility (COR) and Fatigue Management. Duties include:

  • Logistics – Learning the key efficiency strategies to coordinate delivery requirements for clients locally (involves scheduling up to 100 movements per week, across 50 trucks and 100 pieces of trailing equipment), handling allocation for Local teams, optimising the schedule of work;
  • Working with the team to plan product movements for H2/Co2 and Purge work
  • Working on Bulk / Interstate Client allocation where needed
  • Mass & Maintenance – Liaising with the Fleet Administrator on movements to ensure the fleet and trailing equipment are made available for servicing as per service schedules and NHVAS requirements; ensuring drivers are maintaining operating limits;
  • Communication – Fostering and developing client and driver relationships to ensure delivery and servicing requirements are met;
  • Data Entry & Reporting – Assisting other team members with overflow administration, record keeping and reporting.

Skills and Experience

The successful applicant will require:

  • Excellent communication skills, with an calm and easy going nature
  • A willingness to build on their heavy vehicle transport experience;
  • Ability to problem-solve and think-quick to provide solutions
  • Strong attention to detail;
  • Service oriented approach with the ability to work steadily in a fast-paced environment;
  • Self-motivated and willingness to see a task through to completion;
  • Strong computer and administrative skills (Including cloud-based programs);
  • Previous experience in a related role, demonstrating basic knowledge of heavy vehicles is required.
