About The Opportunity
Support the Senior Environment Business Partner - Assessments as a member of the environmental business partnering team for environmental assessments. Provide expert services, support and assurance for the effective implementation of ARTC’s environmental management system for environmental assessments and planning approvals. The aim is to enhance environmental outcomes, reduce operational risks and ensure compliance with ARTC policies and regulations. The role is crucial in fostering a culture of environmental stewardship across the business, driving performance outcomes and aligning initiatives with the broader business strategy.
Responsibilities Include
Act as a trusted business partner for the Safety and Systems business unit, offering oversight and support for environmental assessments and planning approvals. Provide advice on, review, and deliver complex environmental assessments (EIS / EIA / REF), specialist studies and licence/permit requirements to support the delivery of rail projects. Provide strategic and technical advice in the assessment and mitigation of environmental impacts and development of planning and environmental strategies. Provide services, assurance and support to the business for the effective implementation of ARTC’s environmental management system.
About You
To ensure success in this position, applicants will be able to demonstrate:
5+ Years experience preferred. NSW experience is preferred for this role. Tertiary qualifications – Environmental Science/Planning Experience with and knowledge of environmental assessment legislation and approvals pathways. Proven ability to build relationships with external parties such as regulators and drive performance improvement with outsourced delivery partners. Experience in delivering fit for purpose environmental assessments for infrastructure projects. Experience and demonstrated ability in the implementation of environmental management systems and assessment processes. Ability to travel intrastate and interstate (class C driving licence required). Accreditation with the Planning Institute of Australia (PIA) or Certified Environment Practitioner Scheme (CEnvP) is desirable.
