Oshc Coordinator - Inner West

FLASCA
Sydney Full-day Full-time

Description:

The 2025 opportunity you have been searching for. Leading a unique, much loved, community focused not-for-profit OSHC organisation, located in separate rooms within the grounds of Forest Lodge Public School (FLPS).

About the Role:

Licenced for 160 students, FLASCA operates from separate rooms within the school, including a service kitchen (not shared with the canteen), office, quiet room and main room, along with access to school facilities including toilets, play equipment, mixed use courts, COLA and grassed area.

Your team consists of three engaged and passionate Assistant Coordinators as well as dedicated part-time and casual educators. Although rarely engaged, FLASCA has a relationship with a provider for on-call educators, when required.

You have the ongoing support of a long-term bookkeeper to assist with shift scheduling, budgeting and financial questions.

FLASCA engages a management organisation to take care of regulatory, policy and escalation requirements, a model that will be continued under P&C Committee leadership.

In 2025, FLASCA OSHC will transition from a parent-run oversight committee to the school P&C Committee. You will not be responsible for managing the transition, however we will look to your experience to help shape the outcome.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the Before School Care, After School Care and Vacation Care programs, as Responsible Person.
  • Engage on the floor with children and families on a daily basis during Before and After School Care.
  • Maintain compliance with relevant regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Supervise, lead, and support a team of educators, fostering a positive and collaborative workplace culture
  • Oversee and support the Education Leader (currently one of the Assistant Coordinators)
  • Liaise regularly with the Principal, parent-run committee, and parents to ensure ongoing communication and feedback
  • Take responsibility for the business management aspects of the service, including agreeing and monitoring the budget.
  • Maintain a safe and nurturing environment for children, staff, and families
  • Ensure all documentation, reports, and records are completed accurately and in a timely manner

About You: We are looking for someone with:

  • Experience in a similar role, or a desire to take on the leadership position
  • Proven ability to manage a medium-to-large service
  • A passion for providing high-quality care and education for children
  • Strong business management skills, including experience with budgeting, staffing, and liaising with stakeholders
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with children, families, staff, and the wider community
  • Either completed or currently studying towards an Early Childhood Education and Care qualification (or equivalent) or commensurate experience.

How to Apply:

Via Seek or email ******@flasca.com.au. Make sure to include a summary of why you would suit the role, any leadership experience and your resume. The position will be open through January, with a view to interviewing early February.

If you have any questions or clarifications, please feel free to email ******@blackchalk.com.au or contact Simon on 0422 034 ***.
