Description:
The Racing & Events Manager is responsible for, but not limited to:
Attendance and organisation of race meeting, trials and major events
Liaison with HRNSW in relation to nominations, race programmes and other industry activities
Asset management & compliance – track, plant & equipment, building & grounds infrastructure and liaison with service providers
Managing full time, part time & casual staff and contractors and organisation of recruitment processes
Administration tasks, including bookkeeping, safety, compliance, lease & licensing, oversee IT
Attendance of and Preparation of Board Meeting agendas & minutes, compliance for AGM
Representation of WHRC and liaison with industry participants including owners, trainers, drivers and industry committees.
Maintain current sponsorships and drive new sponsorship opportunities
Drive other key income generating activities including Functions, TAB turnover, Grants & Membership.
Drive attendance and participant engagement both through the community and social media.
This position also requires you to have/be:
An understanding of the harness racing industry
Competent computer skills – Microsoft Office and Outlook
Outstanding written communication skills
Organisational skills with the ability to multitask
Forward thinking
Clear and confident communicator
Ability to work independently and cohesively within a small team
Desire and ability to go above and beyond job description to progress the WHRC
Current Responsible Service of Alcohol & Responsible Conduct Gambling accreditation or willingness to obtain as well as Licence Manager for premises
Current Provide First Aid accreditation or willingness to obtain
