The Opportunity
We are looking to hire a junior Environmental Advisor to work as part of a team who are providing dedicated support to one of our key clients, Hunter Water Corporation.
Our project role is with the Hunter Water Corporation Asset Solutions team. We are responsible for delivering major capital works projects including through construction, assisting with managing environmental approvals and environmental management on site during construction. The type of projects include water and waste water treatment plant upgrades, stormwater projects, renewables and other civil construction.
Whilst you will mostly be based in the heart of Newcastle, you will be required to travel in the Hunter Region to support projects.
Day To Day, You Will
Assist with the review and implementation of Environmental Management PlansSupport the delivery of project environmental performanceSupport the timely and on-scope delivery of city and community-enhancing construction projectsProvide support and advice to our delivery partners in the delivery of $100m+ Capital Projects per annumYou will also get involved in the Planning and Approval process with the support of the broader experienced team
The work will involve a mix of office based and on-site work within multi-disciplinary project teams. You will be supported in the delivery by senior team members who will assist with your development in the environmental management advisory space.
What We'll Love About You
You have up to 3 years of experience as an Environmental professional and/or support role on civil infrastructure projects. You are looking to take the next step in your career, to take on increased responsibility and work in more complex projects.
In Addition, You Bring
Relevant tertiary education qualificationsValid drivers license and ability to obtain white cardGenuine interest in construction and environmental management and desire to develop skills in this area.Developing knowledge of environmental legislation applicable to construction sites/projectsSome experience in planning, development and environmental approvals would be beneficialEffective teamwork practicesProven ability to effectively prepare reports and other outputs for variety of audiences in plain EnglishThe ability to work with minimal supervision and be confident in your interactions with others
