This pivotal role will have you working closely with our leadership team to ensure that all risks across the division are identified, managed, and aligned with our Operational Risk Management Framework.
About the role:
This role will see you provide expert risk advice and guidance to the Technology & Transformation division, ensuring risks are identified early and addressed effectively. You'll act as the 'Voice of Risk' in day-to-day operations, influencing decision making processes and keeping risk at the forefront of every discussion. Working within Line 1, you'll support a culture of proactive risk management and partner with cross-functional teams to monitor, assess, and mitigate risks across technology projects, systems, and processes.
Your responsibilities will include:
  • Developing an end-to-end understanding of Technology and Transformation operations, and the divisions overall objectives.
  • Enabling sound commercial decision-making across the division for infrastructure, applications, cloud and digital platforms development, vendor management, delivery practices and service management
  • Conducting risk assessment and assurance processes for the Division and maintaining related risk registers.
  • Identifying and analysing areas of potential risk that may threaten assets and achievement of objectives.
  • Incident reviews for Technology & Transformation incidents as Line 1 Risk Advisor.
  • Performing controls testing on allocated controls per the controls testing schedule and related processes and documentation requirements.
  • Evaluating risk scenarios by considering both the business and the technical perspectives.
  • Participating in third-party assurance processes to ensure to ensure risk requirements in alignment with contracts and vendor review schedules are met.
  • Conducting risk assessments, highlighting compliance gaps and risks assessed as outside appetite or tolerance.
  • Running risk awareness training workshops to help uplift risk culture of the division.
  • Actively contributing to and participating in the broader risk professional community, maintaining active networks both internally and across industry peers.

About you
We're looking for someone with a proactive mindset and a passion for driving continuous improvement while fostering a culture of risk awareness. You'll balance a strategic approach with hands-on involvement, identifying and mitigating technology risks in a rapidly evolving environment. Similarly, we also seek:
  • Knowledge and practical experience with risk frameworks, methodologies, commonly used risk standards and best practice and the application thereof in operational teams
  • Management of delivery and delivered risk
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills, including identification of root causes of issues
  • Written and verbal communication skills for a senior leadership and Executive audience
  • Understanding of Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA) risk and security-related standards and requirements
  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications in Business/Commerce, Computer Science, Information Technology, Project Management or other relevant fields
